Eph. 4:29-31

This second segment of a three-week study on Sin talks about how the Spirit has redeemed us, and in so doing, seals out the rot and decadence of Sin - if we will relent. Pastor Trevor draws heavily on his experience of trying to redeem an old abandoned house that nature was attempting to reclaim. Much had to be cut out and thrown out, and after that, special mold-resistant paint was used to seal out any return of the rot that had overtaken the house. In the same way, the Spirit reclaims us, and then begins the process of cutting out rot, and then sealing us up for redemption. Grieving the Holy Spirit is asking him to share His house (our lives) with decaying things. The message then returns to remind us that all Sin is just an imitation of the Devil's rebellion. It ends with an invitation for believers to cease grieving the Spirit, and for non-believers to foreclose on their lives and sign them over to Jesus.
