After several weeks of talking about the “theory” of prayer – what it is to God, what it does for us, and what prayer should contain – this whole week is devoted to practical ways to grow and deepen one’s personal prayer life. Recall in Week 3 of the series, a distinction was made between casual and devotional prayers. These tips are meant to help us all increase the consistency, the duration and the depth of our set-aside times with God. Those listening are/were encouraged to personally “own” three of the tips. It is better to commit to three small changes to our pattern than to despair over 23 and not be changed at all.
