If you are a BFAC ministry volunteer looking for the audio message required by your orientation package, you’ve found it! In order to streamline the process of encouraging and equipping our Youth and Sunday School volunteers, Pastor Trevor devoted a Sunday message to talking about the biblical basis for Child Abuse Prevention in churches. Often, conservative Christians roll their eyes or lament the days when ministries to young people could be informal and easy. The safety and liability industries can cause seemingly unnecessary headaches for churches. But today’s message suggests that, in light of Jesus’ fierce love of children, our energy would be far better spent investing in Abuse Prevention than resisting it. The Bible presents God’s protective love as that of a “mother bear robbed of her cubs,” and Heaven’s threat to those who hurt or mislead little ones is actually worse than death.
