Daniel 3:17-18; 1 Peter 4:12-19

Pastor Trevor builds on the biblical foundation set by Brenden Brown last week (our apologies for failing to capture audio for that great message!) Daniel 3 is the story of three men at the mouth of a fiery furnace, who declare that God is able to save them even now... but may NOT. "But if not" is a little phrase that finds significance later in history: on the shores of Dunkirk, 1940. In both stories, God chooses to save, but we all know times when we have trusted and prayed for deliverance or healing, and God chooses "NOT." Drawing on 1 Peter 4, Pastor Trevor helps us to understand why the God who is always "able to save" chooses not to, even (and perhaps especially) for His own children. We are reminded that the joy we can experience even through suffering becomes the proof, before the world and angels, that God is GOOD, not that He is bad.
