2Pt. 3:3-15; 2Cor. 5:1-11; Phil. 1:21-25

Should Christians think about Heaven, or should they focus on the present Earthly task? The answer is simply "Yes," because the earthly task is to the Heavenly destination is what packing our suitcase is to a family vacation. No one would go through the rigors of packing and the hassles of travelling without believing that their destination will be worth it all. In today's passage, Peter reminds us that Heaven IS for real, and if we can stop looking at our earthly Christian life as a Paradise vacation, and see it rather as the "packing" and journey FOR a Paradise vacation, we will be invigorated by the anticipation, rather than shocked and disappointed by the hardship of this life.
