The first ingredient in God's (Acts 2:42-27) recipe for church growth is devotion to the Apostles' teaching. God has preserved the apostles' words, which are ultimately Jesus' words, which are ULTIMATELY God's words, in what we have as the Bible. This message responds to the common claim that Jesus is true but the apostles are not. It also responds to the popular claim that the Bible has been changed over time. It begins by showing that the Bible can be trusted, but it ends by saying that the Bible CANNOT be trusted for salvation and eternal life itself. Jesus HIMSELF, through the Spirit, gives life; the Bible is merely a testimony of that Truth. The Bible without the Spirit's presence is like a razor-sharp scalpel without a surgeon. That is why the Bible must be studied within the spiritual community, where Jesus himself promises to be!
