Acts 2:42-47; 4:32; Phil. 3:7-11; Col. 3:9-15

The Book of Acts DESCRIBES how the early church sold their possessions and lived together in community, but it does not PRESCRIBE that all Christians everywhere must do so. In context, we are meant to believe that the outpouring of the Spirit created such a unity of heart and mind that believers volunteered to live this way for the sake of the Kingdom. If the same Spirit lives in us, what would it take to make us pursue that same kind of unity and cooperation today? This sermon's answer: an identity crisis. Drawing on a complex chart illustration, Pastor Trevor appeals to the "left-brainers" in the crowd to do a statistical analysis of their identity values - to see what things need to fall in our identity values in order to put our Christian identity back on top where it has always belonged!
