Psalm 51

David Peters is our current Ministry Apprentice, and he takes his stand at the pulpit for the very first time. Perhaps you are listening to a historical moment! David shares insights from a passage of Scripture that greatly impacted him in the early days of his life with Jesus: Psalm 51. Just as King David recognized that he could not do anything to undo his sins, and had to rely on the mercy of God, David reminds us that a truly broken and contrite heart is the best sacrifice we can offer God. The true sacrifice for Sin is already offered once and for all, and that is the broken body and poured-out blood of Jesus Christ. But we join ourselves to Jesus by letting ourselves be "broken and poured out" before God. Once we are open and empty before a gracious God, He can begin to fill us up with better things, so that we can then go a live in abundance, bringing the same hope and grace that we found in Christ, to others!
