We are double-tasking today: proclaiming the meaning of the Resurrection, and also continuing in our series on the biblical foundations of our favourite songs. The pastor's daughter Joanna requested to hear about "Christ is Risen" by Mia Fieldes and Matt Maher. The song offers a rich theology not only about how Jesus conquered Sin and Death, but how his Resurrection makes it possible to do the same - not only in the afterlife, but in THIS life. Jesus doesn't make bad people good; he makes spiritually-dead people spiritually-alive! The song (and the Scripture) is calling us to "Come awake, come and rise up from the grave." Let's not wait until we die to start living in Kingdom victory; let's start now!
