Eph. 1:7-8; 1Jn. 3:1-2; Mt. 18:21-35

The translators of the New International Version chose two Greek phrases in the New Testament to translate as "lavished." One is a reference to God's GRACE being lavished upon us, and the second is a reference to God's LOVE being lavished upon us. Lavishing is not merely giving, but overwhelming to exceeding level. Pastor Trevor uses a number of images to impress upon us what it means to be lavished upon by God's love and grace, and ends with a sober reminder that if God is willing to lavish grace and love on us when our sins against Him are great, that we should be swift to extend grace and love to those who offend us.
